Ross Barlow Memorial Charity Golf Day
The 2009 Ross Barlow Memorial Charity Golf Day was a huge success that just keeps getting bigger and better every year. Over 80 players teed off at The Springs Golf & Country Club with perfect weather and a course in prime condition.
This year we welcomed Spencer Primary School who showed up on the day with a team of 4 players. What a great effort from this small community and to their astonishment they took out 3rd place, so congratulations. Thank you to all of the players many of whom were locals.
This year the main beneficiaries were Spencer and Somersby Primary Schools and the Mountain Children's Centre each receiving $1,000 due to their participation on the day. Central Mangrove, Kulnura and Peats Ridge also received a gift with our total donations being $4,500.

Unfortunately the 2008 champions, the Girls Team from the Children's Centre, did not back up this year with the Erbeni Team taking out first prize (Brian McKelvey, Shaun Rodger, Arthur Papas and Loui Erbeni). The East Coast Beverages Team came second, Shaun Rodger for straightest drive and the ZADCO team won the Bradman Award.
Of utmost importance to this event is the partnership we have with our sponsors. Once again Peats Ridge Springs and Central Coast Tractors were the major sponsors who have supporting this event since its inception in 2005.

Now, what would a charity event be without a delicious BBQ cooked by the Rotary Club of Kariong & Somersby….thankyou Rodger Wilson, Robert Kemp, Sam Lentini and Graeme Carraro. Finally, a great effort by Annette McKelvey and Lorraine Wilson for organising 'Nearest the Pin'.
